FOOD SNOB NEWSLETTER

Dear food lover,
Everyone should have that one friend who is always thinking about food. The one who sends you the name of a tiny restaurant you would never have found on your own. The one who tells you what to order before you have even opened the menu. The one who lends you a cookbook and then asks—several times—whether you have made anything from it yet. Food Snob would like to be that friend for you.
Sign up to receive occasional letters about books, restaurants, recipes, food stories and places worth knowing. There may also be stories about ingredients, old recipes, food traditions and the people behind the things we eat.
There are no strict rules. The only rule, really, is that it must be worth sharing.
You can expect a letter every now and then — often enough that we stay in touch, but not so often that you begin to avoid me. Sometimes weekly, sometimes less often. No spam, and no emails sent simply for the sake of it.
We may not have met, but that does not really matter. Food has always been rather good at introducing people.
I will write when I find something worth sharing: a restaurant I cannot stop thinking about, a recipe I have already made three times, a food book that has taken over my bedside table, or perhaps one perfect plate of something.
There are no strict rules. The only rule, really, is that it must be worth sharing.
What will arrive in your inbox?
Books worth discovering
Cookbooks, food writing and the occasional book that is not technically about food but somehow still makes you hungry. Books to read immediately, keep beside your bed or save until the right moment. There may also be stories about dishes, ingredients, old recipes, food traditions and the people who changed the way we eat.
Places worth knowing
Restaurants, from the rather grand to the completely unassuming. Street food, neighbourhood favourites, markets, hidden corners and tables worth travelling for. Perhaps a small restaurant where the bread was almost too good, or somewhere to remember the next time you are hungry in an unfamiliar city.
Things worth cooking and talking about
Recipes you may actually want to make. A dish to cook before the week is over, something seasonal to return to every year, or an idea gathered along the way. There will also be travel discoveries, curious finds and probably a few things I have not thought of yet.
Who is Food Snob?
Food Snob is written by someone who spends rather too much time thinking about what to eat next. I collect cookbooks, restaurant recommendations, recipes scribbled on scraps of paper and stories from people who care deeply about food. I am interested in famous places, but I am just as interested in the tiny ones.
I like beautiful dining rooms, but I also like plastic chairs, paper napkins and food eaten standing up. Nothing appears here simply because it is fashionable or because everyone else is talking about it. I share the things I have loved, the things I am curious about and the things I think you might be glad to know. That is the whole idea.
Sincerely yours,
Food Snob
